Earlier today, on a sunny afternoon in Fort Greene, I ran into Lucille (right) and Edie (left) tending to their garden in the Ingersoll Garden of Eden. The Garden of Eden was started last summer by residents of the Ingersoll Houses, where thirteen plots are nurtured by individual residents. On the afternoon I met Lucille and Edie, they were planting seeds for summer bloom. "The garden will be beautiful in a couple of months, so come back and see it then," Lucille suggested. I will definitely be back.
For those interested in visiting the garden this summer when it is in full bloom, it is located on Myrtle Avenue, between Navy and Prince Streets.
